My Body Deserves to Be Cared For
By LIV You
My body deserves to be cared for.
I treat my body like a king treats his castle. It is my prized possession. My body deserves to be taken care of. Since my body drives every activity I do, I give it my full attention.
My body gets me out of bed each morning. It is important that it functions well so I can meet my physical obligations.
I take time to exercise my body, which keeps it from breaking down.
What I put into my mouth determines how well my inner body functions. I avoid giving into cravings for unhealthy foods because they dull my mind and put pressure on my organs.
I follow a balanced eating regimen to ensure I get the necessary nutrients. A healthy diet ensures my mind is sharp and able to take on the day's challenges.
I take good care of my mind by monitoring my thoughts. I watch appropriate programming on television to encourage positive living. I also engage in healthy conversations with friends and co-workers.
I also exercise my mind every chance I get. When I play games or do puzzles, I get a good mental workout.
Today, I am committed to living a good life. I know that it starts by having a healthy body inside and out. My life's mission is to keep my body as happy and healthy as possible.

Tending to My Plants Teaches Me Valuable Life Skills
By LIV You
There are many ways to develop myself and grow in new areas. One activity that teaches me valuable life skills is gardening.
My plants are living, breathing things that rely on me to stay alive. Although plants survive on their own in nature, they are my responsibility when I decide to take them in. My life focus changes from being self-centered to being nurturing.
Plants communicate when their bodies require nourishment to stay alive. I pay close attention to their visual clues to ensure that they are taken care of.
When I see withered leaves, sometimes the solution is to water the roots and at other times it is to spray the leaves. This shows me that what is presented on the outside is sometimes unreflective of what is happening beneath the surface.
A nourished soul goes hand in hand with a well-maintained exterior. Sometimes a different remedy is required for my soul and my body.
Giving care and attention to my plants shows me that emotional support is as important as physical nourishment. My smiles are brighter when I have the comfort of loved ones during difficult times.
My plants remind me to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life and focus on those who rely on me.
Today, I am happy to have examples of how to carry on through life and do so successfully. It is wonderful to have my plants to show me how to nurture and protect the things that I love.

Transform Your Home Into a Relaxed Haven
By LIV You
Your home should be a place you can escape to and shield yourself from life's frustrations. To increase your tranquility, you can transform your home into a haven where you can retreat if you need to release stress or simply relax.
You don't need the services of an interior decorator or Feng Shui designer to accomplish the atmosphere of relaxation and comfort you want for your home. Instead, you can easily turn your home into the haven you desire by doing some minor adjustments on your own.
Try these easy and effective ways to convert your home from simply livable space into your own personal retreat:
1. Enhance the beauty of your home with natural elements. Beautifying a space is a great way to make it warm, comforting, and inviting. And those feelings can effectively be achieved if you include natural elements as part of your home's décor. Here are some ways you can incorporate nature for an instant feel of relaxation:
• Get flowering plants for your bedroom balcony or back patio.
• Set up wind chimes in locations that catch the breezes during the day.
• Install a fish tank and fill it with aquatic life.
2. Install light dimming controls. Instead of spending money to convert a single room in your home to a center for relaxation, why not install light dimming controls in every room? With these controls, you can easily change the ambience in any room of your home and instantly achieve comfort and relaxation!
3. Paint your private space a soothing color. Whether you like to retreat to your bedroom, bathroom or living room, changing the paint color on the walls can instantly convert your private space into a haven. For a soothing effect, you could use shades of blue on the walls. You'll instantly feel the calm energy when you walk into the space.
4. Use aromatherapy. Aromatic scents can infuse a sense of calm in your mood. Try these methods of filling your home with pleasing, relaxing scents:
• Scented candles that you can buy in any grocery or department store
• Flowering plants that have natural aromas
• Aromatic herbs like lavender that could be placed in aromatherapy diffusers
• Incense burners
5. Get a recliner. A reclining chair is beneficial in relaxing you and a great addition to any space! When you get home from a tough day at the office, spend some time relaxing in your recliner. You'll be surprised at how much help it can be, especially if you get one with:
• Massaging capabilities
• Comfortable headrests
• Cup holders so you can sip on your favorite beverage while relaxing
• Pockets to hold your favorite magazine as well as the television remote
These are only some of the easy ways you can turn your home into a haven for relaxation. And the best part is that you can actually make these minor changes, adjustments and additions on your own. There's no need to get professional help from an outside source.
You alone know what you need to feel completely relaxed and comfortable. Let your home bring you a peaceful feeling every time you step into it.

Exercise Is Fun
By LIV You
I love to work out.
I create interesting challenges for myself. I set goals for building my strength, increasing my flexibility, and conditioning my heart. I track my progress. I savor the satisfaction of my achievements. I give myself rewards like healthy desserts and new shoes.
I vary my routines. Mixing things up helps me to avoid boredom. I alternate between pilates classes and rock-climbing sessions. I read fitness books and watch videos to gather new ideas.
I socialize with others. I surround myself with support. I invite family and friends to join me. Having a workout buddy provides company and makes me feel more accountable. I participate in online forums where I can share encouragement and helpful feedback.
I connect with nature. Running requires less effort when I have a river view.
I dance and sing. I play music that lifts my spirits and makes me want to move.
I buy some toys. I keep simple equipment at home and bring it with me on business trips. I skip rope and shimmy around with a hula hoop.
I play games. I use apps that let me workout with friends while I collect points or run from zombies. I practice my favorite sports or try pickleball for the first time.
I cultivate a positive body image. I look at exercise as something positive I do for myself. I am grateful for my body and how hard it works. I want to keep it strong and fit.
Today, I enjoy myself while I work out. I have so much fun that I forget I am exercising.

I Embrace Peace
By LIV You
I feel calm and comfortable when I welcome peace into my life.
I extend forgiveness. I let go of resentments and disappointments as I remember that I need second chances too.
I practice gratitude. Thinking about my blessings lifts my spirits and gives me energy. I appreciate the kindness of others and experience more harmony in my life.
I face challenges rather than trying to avoid them. I devote my time and energy to figuring out solutions. I replace anxiety with confidence. I show myself that I am capable and strong.
I do one thing at a time. I slow down and give my full attention to my current task. The quality of my work increases, and my activities become more satisfying
I manage stress. I take breaks during the day, exercise regularly, and think positive.
I monitor my media consumption. I choose to get information from sources that are responsible and constructive. I fill my leisure time with hobbies and socializing rather than watching TV.
I spend time outdoors. Communing with nature awakens my senses and stills my thoughts. I feel part of something larger than myself.
I simplify my life. I shop less and give away possessions that I rarely use. I take control of my schedule, so I can spend more time on my personal priorities. I develop efficient routines and turn off my phone for a few hours each day.
Today, I create more moments of peace for myself and others. I am joyful and serene.

Finding Peace within the Mental Battlefield
10 Tips for Stronger Mental Health
By LIV You
To stay fit and healthy it’s important to take care of your mental health as well as your physical health. There are little things you can do each day that all contribute to your mental wellness.
Add these items to your daily routines and feel the difference:
1. Get enough sleep. A lot happens in your brain while you sleep - for both your physical and mental health. Sleep also helps to regulate the chemicals in your brain that manage moods and emotions. When you don’t get enough sleep, you may start to experience feelings of depression or anxiety.
2. Eat nutritiously. Good food is good for our bodies, plus it’s good for our mental health too. A deficiency in certain minerals, such as iron or vitamin B12, can negatively affect your mood.
3. Avoid alcohol, smoking, and drugs. These items can affect your mental health also.
4. Get some sunlight. Your body needs sunlight because it is a good source of vitamin D. This vitamin helps our brains to release chemicals like endorphins and serotonin. It is these chemicals that help improve our mood.
5. Try to reduce stress. Stress can sometimes be unavoidable but learning what triggers it and how to cope with it is key for your mental health.
6. Make time to exercise. Regular exercise helps to boost the production of chemicals in your brain that improve your mood. This helps to eliminate low mood, anxiety, and stress.
7. Have fun. Even if you are living a busy lifestyle, be sure to set some time aside for fun. Fun is actually very important to your mental health, life satisfaction, and a healthy outlook on life.
8. Be sociable. Having a few good friends is good for your mental health. They can support and encourage you in good times and bad, giving you inspiration and motivation to live your best life.
9. Volunteer. Helping others can be good for you too, as well as those you are helping. A little community spirit can go a long way to making you feel good about yourself.
10. Ask for help. Learn to recognize the signs that you aren’t feeling good and need to ask for help. There’s no need to feel ashamed about having to ask for help. We all go through tough times, but if you have support around you, you’ll be able to make it through to the other side.
Your mental health is important and, if not looked after, it may start to affect your physical health as well. Do the little things regularly that can help you to build strong mental health. You’ll love the difference in the way you feel.

Finding a Mental Health Support Group:
- Ask your doctor. Your primary care physician is often the logical starting point. Talk with your doctor about your situation and what you’re trying to achieve. They may be able to recommend a support group or help you access other resources.
- Browse online. The internet makes it easy to research any subject. In addition to specialized support groups, you may want to contact clearinghouses such as Mental Health America.
- Check community resources. While many groups are independent, others are sponsored by various organizations. Hospitals, community centers, and local chapters of nonprofit advocacy organizations can give you more suggestions.
- Clarify your goals. Make sure you understand the difference between group therapy and support groups. Therapy groups are focused on treatment and led by health professionals. A support group promotes self-help and is often peer led.
- Discuss fees. Many support groups are free or ask for donations to cover expenses like rent and snacks. High costs and exaggerated claims could be warning signs.
- Sample your options. It may take time to find a group where you feel comfortable. Keep trying until you discover a suitable match for your needs.
Participating in a Mental Health Support Group:
- Share your story. It’s natural to spend time just listening when you’re new to a group. However, you may find it more rewarding if you try to disclose something about yourself once you feel safe.
- Think positive. Members may need to vent sometimes, but make sure the discussion focuses on coping and healing. Otherwise, you could wind up feeling less empowered than when you started.
- Bring a friend. Depending on the format of the group, it may be helpful to invite your partner or a friend who is in similar circumstances to join you. Check the rules first to confirm who can attend.
- Verify information. You may sometimes hear medical advice or other recommendations from members who lack professional qualifications. Be sure to talk with your doctor or check reputable sources before trying anything risky.
- Reach out. Helping others builds your confidence and may create new friendships. Show that you care by listening attentively and speaking kindly. Volunteer to make coffee or sweep the floor.
- Start from scratch. What if you want to create a new group? Try to find some allies who are willing to share the work. Contact national organizations who may provide assistance for local activities.
- Be discreet. Respect whatever level of anonymity and confidentiality your support group maintains. If you’re unsure of the rules, ask for more explanation.
- Stay safe. Most groups succeed in providing a safe environment, but you still need to take reasonable precautions. That’s especially true in online forums where some members could be insincere.
A support group could transform your life. You’ll be able to connect with others who face similar challenges and work together to achieve greater happiness and healing.

I Dance Without Reservations
By LIV You
I dance without reservations.
I celebrate life by freeing myself through dancing. When I dance, I release all my cares and let go of my worries. I am free to move around, jump, shout, and enjoy myself. I feel liberated when I step onto the dance floor.
I enjoy the freeing effects of lifting my hands, throwing my head back and moving to the beat. I liberate myself of the fear of what would others say and allow myself to have a good time.
Dancing is fun because it is an avenue for me to express another side of my personality. When I hit the dance floor, I am looking to have a good time with my friends.
As I raise my hands in the air, I allow my worries to roll off my body. With every step I take, I crush fear and negativity. Dancing gives me a boost of energy and confidence like nothing else can.
There is a time and a season for everything in life. There is a time to work and to be serious, just as there is time to treat myself to some fun. By allowing myself to dance freely, I prove to myself that life is about more than just work.
I release my inhibitions about dancing because the point of dancing is to have a good time. I shut down negative thoughts about my weaknesses on the dance floor. My style of dancing and my ability level are irrelevant to enjoying myself.
Today, I choose to turn up the music and dance like no one is watching. I give myself permission to live, move, and let loose. I sing along and laugh loud enough to drown the critical voice of self-consciousness.

Take Back Control of Your Life and Put Yourself in Charge
Is your life out of balance? From time to time, everyone’s life can get a little out of control. You spend too much time focussed on work, and your family life suffers. Or you spend too much money on your social life, and your finances suffer. Maybe you’re running yourself ragged and your health is taking a back seat.
So what can you do to stop this chaos?
Regain balance in your life with these strategies:
Everything gets out of balance once in awhile, including your life. The key is recognizing the challenge you face and setting priorities. Eliminate those things that don’t add value to your life so you have more time for the things that do. Take control of your life and create a life that truly fulfills you.
- Identify the different parts of your life. If you were going to divide your life into columns, what would the column headings be? For most of us, they would include family, work, health, finances, and social life. You might have additional categories such as music, spirituality, and volunteering.
- Start with your health. Is your health negatively impacted by your lifestyle? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you eating properly? How much exercise are you getting each day? Have you been to the doctor lately? How is your bodyweight? What can you do to enhance your health?
- Evaluate your family life. Does your family only get attention when you have time left over from your other obligations? Are you spending enough time with your partner and children? What do each of them need right now? How can you provide it to them? How can you enrich your relationship with your family?
- Is your social life getting too much attention or not enough? Have you lost track of your friends? Is your family upset that you’re spending too much time socializing? Or maybe your overactive social life is causing challenges in other areas of your life. Consider what changes would help balance out your social life.
- Take a look at your values and priorities. What is most important to you? You can’t have it all unless your wants are quite limited. Make a list of your values and priorities. Alter your life to emphasize those things.
- Where are you wasting time? Perhaps you can bring your life back into balance by freeing up more time for what’s most important to you. First, identify how you’re wasting time and eliminate or minimize those activities.
- Learn to say “no”. There’s not enough time in the day to say “yes” to everything that crosses your path. This goes back to your priorities. One of the most effective ways to regain balance in your life is to eliminate the unnecessary. What can you live without? What will you be glad to get off your plate?
- Be grateful for what you have. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, it can be easy to see the dark side of things. Remind yourself of how much you have in your life already. With a positive outlook, you’ll have a better chance of making progress.
- Make a plan. Once you have a few ideas, make a plan on how you intend to put them into practice. Avoid the mistake of believing that identifying the cure is a cure in itself. It’s necessary to take action.
Everything gets out of balance once in awhile, including your life. The key is recognizing the challenge you face and setting priorities. Eliminate those things that don’t add value to your life so you have more time for the things that do. Take control of your life and create a life that truly fulfills you.

What You Can Do if You’re Feeling Socially Isolated
By LIV You
What You Can Do if You’re Feeling Socially Isolated
There are a lot of people that feel alone these days. It’s not easy or safe to casually meet for dinner at a restaurant. It’s not advisable to meet at a friend’s house for a poker tournament.
A lot of the regular activities you normally use to connect with others and to get out of the house are off-limits now. It’s natural to feel out of sorts and isolated.
However, where there’s a will, there’s a way. There are opportunities to connect with others if you’re willing to think outside the box.
Find new ways to stay in touch with the outside world:
1. Be creative. Maybe your normal social channels and activities are now unavailable to you. That just means you need to be creative and find new ways to connect with others and spend your time.
4. Use the internet. There are countless ways to use the internet to connect with others. Let’s consider just a few:
7. Exercise. Exercise is a great way to change your perspective. It also helps to keep your mind and body healthy. What type of activity do you like to do? Do it.
8. Be safe. It’s easy to become fatigued with the Covid-19 situation and let your guard down. Avoid becoming reckless. Look for safe outlets for your need to connect with others.
The pandemic won’t last forever. In the meantime, if you’re feeling isolated, be creative and reach out to the people in your life. Maybe you can’t sit on the couch and watch a movie together, but there are other meaningful ways to interact with each other. Find new and enjoyable ways to spend your time alone and to connect with others.
